Brady Development both develops and consults on affordable housing in North Carolina, SouthCarolina, and Georgia. We pursue our own development projects as needs arise. However, we are also happy to share what we have learned with others–be they other developers looking to expand into the Southeast or communities searching for strategies to foster affordable housing development.
Brady Development, LLC was founded in 2014 by Sean Brady to enhance communities through the development and operation of quality affordable housing. Sean’s unique background in both the public and private (for-profit and non-profit) sectors have enabled Brady Development to build partnerships and meet housing needs in diverse communities with almost 1,500 housing units in Texas, North Carolina, and Georgia. Sean has also secured several affordable housing awards in South Carolina.

Prior to founding Brady Development, Sean served as Executive Director of both the Chamber of Commerce and Development Authority of Rabun County, Georgia, where he created or saved over100 jobs, developed over 1 million square feet of industrial space, recruited companies, fostered numerous local business and workforce improvement programs, attracted new state infrastructure investments, and won almost $2 million in federal and state grants.
He also previously worked as an environmental impact analyst, leading comprehensive teams to complete numerous impact assessments under the National Environmental Policy Act where he learned to use data analysis to guide development decisions on the front end to minimize ecological impact. Sean is a LEED Accredited Professional and holds an undergraduate degree inEnvironmental Science and Public Policy from Duke University, a Master’s in Business Administration(Real Estate Finance) from Emory University, and a Master’s in City and Regional Planning (LandDevelopment) from Georgia Tech.

Over the years, he has learned the key to effective affordable housing development are building effective partnerships (as well as learning to combine a wide range of creative funding sources).
Previous and current community partnerships for Brady Development include Decatur Housing Authority, Charlotte Housing Authority (dba, Inlivian), and Durham Housing Authority. Sean is also experienced in a variety of local gap funding sources, including HOME, Housing Trust Fund, and Project Based Vouchers, from City of Atlanta, GA; City of Charlotte, NC; City of Raleigh, NC; City of Asheville, NC; City of Centerville, GA; Buncombe County, NC; Wake County, NC; Bryan County, GA; and numerous communities in Texas. Sean is also experienced in numerous Federal funding sources, which include AHP, HOME, RAD, HUD 221(d)4, USDA 538, Freddie TEL, and Freddie 9% Forward financing
